In Anything else, Coffee

La Torrefazione means caffé and roastery in the same premises and that is what you find in this caffé in central Helsinki. It´s a small caffé upstairs from the street level that gives you a  Finnish experience in specialty coffee. The two brothers Svante and Jens Hampf runs the local Kaffa Roastery, La Torrefazione and Fratello so of course it´s coffee from Kaffa Roastery and some small batches roasted in their own micro roaster machine in the caffé. International internal style and you find pictures on the wall that tells you this place is about coffee. However it´s also a popular and crowded lunch restaurant. You can order filter brewed or french pressed coffee and espresso and espresso based drinks. I recommend you to stop by and order a coffee, have chat with the barista or slowly drink your breakfast cappuccino in solitude before you hit the streets.

Back in time Helsinki was supposed to hold the barista WC but to few sponsors contributed. One of the signed snow white competition machines, La Marzoco FB/80 can you find at La Torrefazione.

Barista Noora Kahila.
