Today it was time for some wine glass R&D at LASISMI glass studio in Riihimäki to finish the design. Lasismi is a studio of eight glassblowers and glass designers. Lasismi took over an old studio of the famous Finnish glass blower Jaakko Liikanen 2010. Pictures: 1) Prototypes Sommelier Cup Wine. 2) Plate, design Lasismi. 3) Water glass, design Toni Kokkila Lasismi.

In Coffee, Wine

The Finnish Barista Champion 2013 Kalle Freese on Vimeo, using “Sommelier Cup” espresso. He brew his espresso in ordinary cups by the rules to show the crema and then decant into the “Sommelier Cup”  espresso to bring out the best aromas from the coffee. The crema is not tasting very good but gives you the more full bodied texture. In the “Sommelier Cup” espresso,  crema and coffee blends and you can rotate the coffee in the cup as for wine in a wine glass, as a result of that your espresso smells and taste much greater and richer. You can actually smell and taste aromas in your espresso that is impossible in an ordinary container, sorry cup.
